Awel y Mor is a Victorian guest house in the picturesque village of Aberdovey (Aberdyfi in Welsh). Across the street are miles of golden sand and sheltered dunes. Our spotless rooms are en suite and have TV and tea/coffee making facilities. We offer hearty breakfasts, including home made vegetarian specialities. and we promise a warm welcome.

The village has several excellent places to eat from pubs to award winning restaurants and there are specialist boutiques and art galleries. A wide range of activities is available including walking, bird watching, cycling, water sports of all descriptions, fishing, and golf at the championship course.

The surrounding scenery is spectacular and there are plenty of historic sites to visit as well as craft centres and local markets.

So, there is plenty to see and do, but what our visitors like most is to relax in an unspoilt beautiful village by the sea.

    Our Visitors Say:
"Many thanks for your warm relaxed atmosphere and the excellent breakfast" (K.Goode, London)
"Thank you for a very enjoyable stay, we came for two nights and stayed for four!!" (J.Dennis, Bolton, Lancs)
"Wonderful hospitality" (T.Cooper, Geelong, Victoria, Australia)

Aberdovey is a small peaceful seaside village nestling on the north side of the Dyfi estuary. A popular resort for many years, it has a thriving little harbour and sits within Snowdonia National Park, where the river Dyfi meets the blue waters of Cardigan Bay.

Aberdovey is the perfect holiday location. It has watersports galore, including sailing, sailboarding, fishing, wind surfing, boat trips and the summer regatta. It also has an 18 hole championship golf course, a bowling green, tennis court and a croquet lawn.

The sandy beach is Ideal for children who love to go "crabbing" off the quay.

The area around Aberdovey has many attractions. For example, the Talyllyn Steam Railway, which starts in near by Tywyn, is well worth a visit and there are numerous historical sites within close driving distance. In addition, the spectacular mountain and valley scenery, including the peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges, makes this haven for walkers, climbers and wildlife watchers.

Alternatively, the dedicated shopper can enjoy the specialist shops and galleries within the village, as well as nearby markets and craft centres.

Many people return to Aberdovey year after year. It is an ideal place to relax or to use as a base to explore the wild and rugged West side of Wales. We shall not be surprised, if like many of our guests, you return again and again.
